Hey everybody, it's Rob here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2017 Nissan Altima. So we're going to have two hitches available for our Nissan. Up top here, we're going to have our Draw-Tite, it's going to be a class 1 hitch. Then right below that we're going to have our CURT, which is also going to be a class 1 hitch.Now me, personally, if I we're looking for a hitch for my Altima, I would go with the CURT for a few different reasons. Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2015 Nissan Altima- Video
Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com and today you're going to be taking a look at the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness with a 4-pole flat trailer connector on our 2015 Nissan Altima. Now our wiring is inaudible 00:00:11 and the 4-pole flat trailer connector. So we have all the required lights to get down the road safely and securely, like our running lights or stoplights and our turn signals. Now our wiring does come with a dust cover we attach to the connector itself, keep all that dirt, debris and moisture out. However, when we're not using our wiring, it is designed to stay on the inside of the car. We can open up the trunk and whenever we want to store it we're just going to store it inside the trunk or we can actually put it down below down by our spare tire.And when we do want to use it, we're going to drop it out the rear of the trunk. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Nissan Altima- Video
Today on our 2010 Nissan Altima we're going to be installing Tekonsha's T-One 4-Pole vehicle wiring harness, part number 118470. This wiring harness is going to give us all the necessarily lighting we need in our trailer. This includes our left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps and brake lamps. So we'll be DOT compliant in all states.There's an attached dust cap so you can keep out any dirt, debris, and moisture to ensure a long lasting connection. Initially when you're not using it, if is outside the vehicle you can secure it to your hitch in one of the safety chain loops and this'll keep it up out of the way. When you're not using your cable you can simply wrap it up and store it in the compartment located under the panel here in the back. more

Speaker 1: Here in this 2015 Nissan Altima we're gonna be having a look at, and showing you how to install, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4 Pole Flat Trailer Connector, and this is part number 56022.Here's what the wiring looks like installed. The reason you're gonna want a 4-pole flat wiring harness on your Altima is if you're planning on towing a trailer you gotta have some form of wiring harness in order to run your trailer lights so you can be safe and legal. This will give you all of the basic lighting functions that you need.This white wire here, this provides the necessary ground connection between our Altima and our trailer. This brown wire here is our taillight and running light circuit, and on that circuit we have a total power output of six amps, which is more than sufficient to tow a small trailer with several incandescent light bulbs, or as many LEDs as we want since they do draw less power.This yellow wire here is our left-turn signal and left brake light. This green wire's our right-turn signal and right brake light. And on each one of these wires we have a total power output of three amps per wire. more

Now both of them are going to give us a 4-pole trailer connector at the back of our car.Now both of our kits are designed to stay on the inside of the car at all items, until we're ready to use it. So once we're ready to use it, we're going to open up our trunk and we're going to drop down our 4-pole connector, it'll be ready to hook up to our trailer. Whenever we're not using it, you can simply open up our trunk, tuck it underneath the carpet, and it'll be out of the way.So now that we've seen what the end result is, let's go ahead and take a closer look at some of the differences between our two kits.First thing we're going to notice that both of our kits are going to have a converter box. Now the one thing I do like about the Tereshkova is the box is a little bit smaller, and they give us a little bit more room and leeway of how we're going to mount it. Each kit is going to provide you with some double sided sticky tape, that you can mount to the back of the box and then mount to a flat surface, but Tereshkova has also taken that into thought and added this small tab where you can actually take a zip tie or self tapping screw and use this little eyelet to attach it to wherever surface you see fit.With the Curt however, it's just going to be a flat rectangular box. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Nissan Altima- Video
Today on our 2011 Nissan Altima we'll be installing the Tow Ready T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118470. To begin with we'll need to go ahead and raise the trunk lid up. Next we'll go ahead and remove the three tabs that hold the rear plastic threshold in place. Once that's been removed, now we need to go to each side, the driver as well as the passenger side, and remove a push tab similar to what we just removed to remove the threshold. We'll need to pull each one out so that we can peel the carpet back to allow us access to the wiring connection. Here on the passenger side we'll make the connection with the wiring harness that has the green wire and the end connectors. First we need to disonnect the factory connections. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Nissan Altima- Video
Today on our 2013 Nissan Alitma, we'll be installing the Tow Ready Wiring Harness, part number 118470. This is a wiring harness that will generally be in the trunk of our vehicle when not in use. When needed, simply open the trunk and pull the harness out. When routed to where it needs to be, go ahead and shut the trunk, making sure to keep it away from the latch, as it might damage the harness. When you are finished, go ahead and place it back in the trunk or spare tire area for storage. Now, I'll show you how it installs. First, we need to gain access to the trunk area. We'll then lift the spare tire cover and jack storage tray out of the way and remove the center threshold. To do this, we need to remove three pop rivets that hold the threshold in place. Once that's done, we'll pop up the entire threshold up and out of the way. Next we need to get to the taillight wiring harness. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Nissan Altima- Video
Today on this 2008 Nissan Altima we are going to install part number 118470 from Tow Ready. The first thing we need to do on this install is get inside the trunk area and remove the carpeting. We are going to remove this plastic also. Start by taking out the rivets, they pop right out. Use a screwdriver to get the rivets started and then take a trim panel tool. Pull out the middle. Work our way across. All right we have got the threshold gone, lets remove the carpeting. We are going to repeat the same process back over on the passenger side.
